Challenge

Philips' three business divisions, Personal Health, Health Systems, and Corporate, each operated with separate toolkits and diverging design languages, creating inconsistency across the global web presence and duplicated effort across teams.

Approach

Started within Personal Health, helping build and expand the PH Web Toolkit through reusable web components and scalable interface patterns. Later joined an initiative to align the design languages of Personal Health and Health Systems using Filament, Philips' foundational system of colours, shapes, spacing and visual principles, as a shared base, while preserving only the platform-specific differences required by each domain. Following this, transitioned into Corporate during the early stages of Philips' global replatforming initiative across regions including Singapore and Australia. As Corporate did not yet have its own dedicated toolkit and still relied on the ageing HS Web Toolkit, helped design and build a new Corporate Web Toolkit tailored to the more business-oriented character and communication needs of Philips Corporate.

Outcome

Delivered toolkit foundations across three business divisions, reusable component libraries and a unified design language baseline that reduced duplication and gave each team a scalable starting point for their platforms.
